About the role:

The Harrow Road Assessment Hub is a brand new service at SHP, providing short-stay accommodation and focused support to people beginning their journey away from rough sleeping in Westminster. As Senior Worker, you will be at the forefront of this vital work, bringing your skills and passion to a role that makes a real difference both to the lives of residents and to the way the hub operates. You will play a central part in ensuring assessments and support planning are delivered to the highest standard, using your expertise to guide complex cases and champion best practice within the team.

This is an opportunity to take on new challenges and stretch your abilities in a service where no two days are the same. You will build meaningful relationships with residents, help them take the first steps towards stable housing, and work alongside colleagues and partners to break down barriers and open up opportunities. From shaping the daily running of the hub to supporting the team through reflective practice and collaborative problem solving, your contribution will directly influence the success of the service and the outcomes achieved for clients.

For SHP colleagues who are ready to take the next step, this role offers genuine career growth. It is a chance to develop your specialist skills, to step into a position of influence, and to see the impact of your work ripple across the organisation. By taking on this role you will not only help transform individual lives but also strengthen SHP’s mission to create lasting routes out of homelessness for Londoners.

When you are completing your application please answer the 4 areas below and please put n/a to areas 5, 6 and 7:

  • Tell us about a time you supported a client with complex needs. What did you do and what was the outcome?
  • Give an example of when you worked with others to solve a problem for a client. What role did you play and what happened?
  • Describe a situation where you stayed calm and effective during a crisis. How did your actions help the client and others involved?
  • Share an example of how you used your skills or knowledge to improve the way your team worked with clients.
