About the role:

Our Barnet based supported accommodation service spans multiple boroughs and brings together a multidisciplinary team to support people who face a range of complex challenges. As a Resettlement Worker, you'll be part of a passionate and forward thinking team working with clients who may experience difficulties with mental health, substance use, and/or physical health. Your role will be to help individuals take confident steps toward independence, supporting them to transition from supported housing to stable, long-term accommodation. You’ll work in close collaboration with project workers, proactively identifying clients ready for move-on, and ensuring they have the tools, support, and confidence to sustain a tenancy in the future.

This is a dynamic, people focused role that involves a variety of engaging tasks each week. From checking in with caseworkers and reviewing priority client lists, to arranging and coordinating property viewings and advocating directly with housing providers, you'll be right at the heart of the move-on process. You'll take the lead in setting meeting agendas, driving partnership opportunities, and making sure every client’s housing journey is well supported and carefully planned. Daily communication with housing providers and collaboration on joint projects or initiatives will give you the chance to make a real impact in our clients lives.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast paced environment, can think creatively to overcome barriers, and is always ready to support their team. You'll be encouraged to take personal ownership of your learning and development, with regular training, active involvement in team discussions, and plenty of opportunities to grow your skillset. Whether you’re sharing knowledge with colleagues, leading new initiatives, or building trusted relationships with landlords, your work will directly contribute to transforming lives—and you’ll be supported every step of the way to develop your career in the homelessness sector.

When you are completing your application please answer the 4 areas below and please put n/a to areas 5, 6 and 7:

  • How do you assess a client’s readiness to move on from supported accommodation into the private rented sector? How would you deal with a client who has high expectations around their move on plans?
  • Providing examples, how do you build relationships with external letting agencies and landlords that are sustainable and safe options for our clients?
  • Please describe a time you have delivered a trauma informed and client centred approach when moving a client onto the private rented sector?
  • How do you encourage time management among clients preparing to live independently?
