Do you believe everyone should have a place to call home and the chance to lead a fulfilling life?
At SHP (Single Homeless Project), you’ll be part of one of London’s leading homelessness prevention charities, a dynamic and growing organisation changing 8,000 lives every year across London - from supporting people in crisis to helping them take the final steps towards independence and employment.
SHP was founded by a group of homeless people in the mid-1970s and more than 40 years on, we still try to look at the world through our clients’ eyes, putting their needs and viewpoints at the centre of everything we do. Above all, we believe that, no matter what challenges they face, everyone we work with has the capacity to take control of their lives and shape their own futures.
We have two new exciting roles within the organisation to be part of an expanding service in the London Borough of Newham. Support Workers are delivering support to some of the most vulnerable adults in Newham with a keen focus on the individuals that have been rough sleeping in the borough.
The role will require you to work alongside the lead worker, floating support workers, Navigator and ETE and opportunities worker. In addition you will also be working closely with our additional service, the Housing First Team.
The ideal candidates will be highly organised, proactive, passionate and adept at developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Additionally have a good understanding of working with vulnerable people who have been rough sleeping and understanding the trauma that could be associated with that. Additionally the candidate will have a strong working knowledge of London's private rented market and the current welfare system.
If you are enthusiastic and have a passion to shape and prevent rough sleeping in Newham then we want you to be part of our high-performing service, so please apply.
Closing date for applications: Thursday 11th July at midnight
