Do you believe everyone should have a place to call home and the chance to lead a fulfilling life?

SHP (Single Homeless Project) is one of London’s leading homelessness prevention charities and a dynamic and growing organisation changing 8,000 lives every year across London - from supporting people in crisis, to helping them take the final steps towards independence and employment.

We have an exciting new role within the organisation as part of our central Achieving Potential team.  The role will involve supporting two SHP services, Fulfilling Lives and Lambeth Hostel Move On, to support their clients into independent housing.  The role will evenly split its time between our Kings Cross and Vauxhall offices.

As the Senior Floating Support Worker you will provide support and guidance to the teams, delivering support directly to a caseload of clients who require help to sustain their current accommodation or secure new housing. You will use your specialist knowledge of both supporting vulnerable adults and housing options, to secure positive outcomes for clients.

The Fulfilling Lives team works with some of the most entrenched, vulnerable and complex needs homeless adults in Camden and Islington and is at the forefront in trying to change statutory and support systems, to achieve better outcomes for this group of individuals. The Lambeth Hostel Move On Service works across the hostel pathway in the borough, supporting residents who have progressed to the point where they are ready for independent living and supporting them to secure and sustain tenancies in the private rented sector.

The ideal candidate will have experience of helping vulnerable people access housing and sustain their tenancy. You will also be highly organised, proactive and adapt at developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.  Along with a strong working knowledge of London's housing market and the current welfare system, you will also be outcome focused and have a passion for supporting highly vulnerable and often complex needs adults.

Please note the role is based primarily in Camden but will involve frequent travel across London.

Closing date for applications: Midnight, 3rd October 2019

Interviews to be held: 11th October 2019

This post will require an Enhanced DBS check to be processed for the successful applicant.

Our attractive benefits package includes:

  • A 37.5 hour working week including flexible working hours (core hours are 10am – 4pm) in non-accommodation services
  • 25 days annual leave, increasing annually to the maximum 28 days (plus paid Bank Holidays),
  • A contributory pension scheme: SHP will contribute the equivalent of 5% of your annual salary
  • Comprehensive and integrated training programme designed specifically to develop the skills and knowledge involved in our work
