About the role:

Southampton Row is an eighteen bed hostel in Camden that provides specialist support to people facing some of the toughest barriers to stability in London. As a Project Worker Complex Needs, you will be at the heart of this work, offering consistent relationship based support to clients whose experiences may have made trust and engagement feel difficult. Each day brings opportunities to help someone stabilise, regain confidence and take steps towards a more independent and fulfilling life. You will carry a mixed caseload, carry out assessments, develop support and safety plans and work alongside residents through key work sessions, group activities and day to day contact. The rhythm of the service means no two days are the same; you might be helping someone navigate treatment pathways, advocating within a partner agency, supporting budgeting and benefit issues, or simply being the steady presence they need while managing the daily running of a residential environment.

In this role, you will also shape and deliver our in house recovery programme, making sure clients voices and ideas drive the work. You will strengthen connections with external partners, contribute to local forums and share insight with colleagues to ensure the service remains consistent, compassionate and ambitious for every resident. Your work will help create a culture where people feel listened to and involved in decisions about their lives, and where staff learn from each other to provide thoughtful and joined up support. Single Homeless Project (SHP) is committed to developing its staff and this role offers a strong foundation for progression, with opportunities to build skills in trauma informed practice, multi agency partnership working, complex case management and co-production.

Joining SHP means joining an organisation that backs people to make lasting change. The contribution you make will ripple far beyond the day to day tasks, shaping the way residents experience support and leaving a long term impact on their lives after they move on. If you thrive in fast moving settings, believe in people’s capacity to rebuild and want to grow your career in a place that champions curiosity, persistence and humanity, this is a chance to do work that truly matters.

About you:

  • You bring experience supporting adults through change, helping them set goals, overcome challenges and build independence.
  • You stay calm under pressure and respond confidently to complex or crisis situations.
  • You work collaboratively with partners and colleagues to create joined-up, effective support for every client.
  • You’re organised, proactive and comfortable managing your own caseload and priorities.
  • You share SHP’s belief that everyone has strengths, potential and the right to a safe, fulfilling life beyond homelessness.

About us:

We’re London’s leading homelessness charity – and we get things done.

In a city where hundreds are forced into homelessness every day, our work has never been more needed or more challenging. And we’re not shying away. We’re rolling up our sleeves to make change and helping over 10,000 Londoners every year. We prevent homelessness, provide safe places to live and give people the opportunity to rebuild their lives and transform their futures. And we never give up.

We’re here for Londoners wherever they are on their journey. We start with trust, building relationships that help people feel safe, supported, and ready to move forward. Every day, we put people first in everything we do, challenging injustice and barriers that keep people from the safety, stability and opportunity they deserve. We stand alongside people as they rebuild and shape a future that feels their own.

Joining Single Homeless Project means joining a team that’s bold, compassionate and determined to do better for the people we support and for each other. You’ll work alongside colleagues with lived experience, in a space that’s trans-inclusive, disability-friendly, and actively striving to be anti-oppressive and equitable.

We’re not perfect, but we’re real. We listen. We learn. And we push forward, together. Because this isn’t just a job. It’s a chance to lead with empathy, spark change, and help build a London where no one is left behind.
