THE ROLE

SHP provides accommodation based support services across London to people who have lived experience of homelessness. Our clients have a combination of support needs in relation to poly-substance misuse, mental and physical health, variety of associated issues such as street activity, offending , and often a background of complex trauma.

Project Workers (Complex Needs) hold a caseload and take a lead in providing one to one support to our clients. It will include risk assessments, planning and running activities, with individuals and groups of clients to support their recovery, develop their wellbeing and independence and effect positive change in their lives. Project Workers (Complex Needs) play an important role in coordinating client support around substance use, mental health and physical health as well as developing strong partnerships with specialist services. Internally, Project Workers (Complex Needs) will also coordinate the work of team members in a variety of other roles, such as Psychologists, Recovery Opportunities Coordinators, Support Assistants and Trainees. All of the above makes these Project Worker (Complex Needs) roles as varied as they are challenging and rewarding.

YOU

You are likely to be currently, or have been previously, in the role of a front line worker working with vulnerable adults,  and  be  looking to bring your skills, knowledge and experience of working in accommodation or similar services for homeless people to the next level. You know you enjoy working as part of a team within the hostel and wider social care systems, have the communication and people skills to work effectively with our clients, the ability to reflect and learn, and the commitment and ambition to continue your personal development and influence the way services are delivered in working with people who have Complex Needs.
