We have two new exciting job opportunities, to join SHP’s highly successful Peer Mentor team. We are currently seeking two individuals, to fill the roles of Peer Mentor Volunteer Coordinators and lead on the delivery of a local peer mentoring programme, as well as supporting organisational-wide peer support initiatives.

We help single Londoners by preventing homelessness, providing support and accommodation, promoting wellbeing, enhancing opportunity, and being a voice for change. From supporting people in crisis to helping people take the final steps towards independence and employment, we make a difference to 10,000 lives every year across all 32 boroughs.

Your specialist knowledge of the issues facing those in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction and/or those who have accessed the criminal justice system, will enable you to provide high quality support and develop opportunities for Peer Mentor volunteers.

Coupled with your experience of designing and delivering training, this will allow you to support the ongoing development of a Peer Mentor scheme in Camden and Islington. The role is very varied and involves leading on the recruitment of new volunteers, delivering training as well as the ongoing supervision of a Peer Mentor team.

The successful applicant will be expected to have a specialism focusing either on peer support within drug and alcohol recovery or support for those that accessed the criminal justice system.  

These roles require enthusiasm, commitment and a solution focused approach. It is a fantastic opportunity to further develop your supervisory skills, work closely and effectively with partners, stakeholders and internal contacts and also work creatively in response to the needs of the organisation.
