We have an exciting 12 month secondment opportunity for a Maintenance Officer to work within our newly restructured Housing Services Team. The successful candidate will work within a small team, assisting with the development and implementation of a centralised support function to our hostels and long term accommodation teams, to reduce loss of capacity through empty accommodation units and improve maintenance performance across the organisation. Candidates will be liaising directly with clients, hostel and housing staff teams, registered providers and contractors, so will need to be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication in addition to excellent administrative skills. Working within this busy vibrant environment will require a candidate who can work proactively to meet deadlines. The ability to be self motivating and work on your own initiative, be organised and methodical, with the dedication to see tasks through to conclusion will be well utilised in this role. Whilst direct experience within a housing management or maintenance role is desirable but not essential, it would be advantageous to have an understanding of maintenance or repairs, or be able to demonstrate how skills and experience can be transferred to the role.
