At SHP (Single Homeless Project), you’ll be part of one of London’s leading homelessness prevention charities, a dynamic and growing organisation changing 8,000 lives every year across London  - from supporting people in crisis to helping them take the final steps towards independence and employment.

SHP was founded by a group of homeless people in the mid-1970s and more than 40 years on, we still try to look at the world through our clients’ eyes, putting their needs and viewpoints at the centre of everything we do. Above all, we believe that, no matter what challenges they face, everyone we work with has the capacity to take control of their lives and shape their own futures.

A genuinely exciting opportunity is available for the right person to lead and develop the SHP Opportunities Programme.

This is a growing psychosocial programme of education and activities across five key strands: Sport & Health, Creative Arts, Music, Horticulture and  Recovery & Wellbeing. Each strand is coordinated by a Lead who will report directly to the post holder.

The purpose of the programme is to support our clients to develop the skills to improve their quality of life and live better, healthier, happier and more independent lives. The Programme runs as a holistic add-on to all of SHP’s other support services. Last year the programme ran sessions that reached over 1000 of London's most vulnerable residents.  This year our plan is to expand on that.

The successful candidate will need great project management skills to develop and lead the overall programme and to manage each strand and will have the drive and passion necessary to work with the senior team to review, evaluate and adapt the programme in response to changing strategic needs. 

The post holder will be supporting the service to develop, with an opportunity for further advancement alongside any progress that’s made. The successful candidate will be working in a supportive and encouraging environment to develop the content and reach of the programme. You will develop the  skills of a creative, experienced and committed team.

Although based in our Head Office in Kings Cross the role will involve travel to SHP services across London.
