Do you believe everyone should have a place to call home and the chance to lead a fulfilling life?
At SHP (Single Homeless Project), you’ll be part of one of London’s leading homelessness prevention charities, a dynamic and growing organisation changing 8,000 lives every year across London borough - from supporting people in crisis to helping them take the final steps towards independence and employment.
SHP was founded by a group of homeless people in the mid-1970s and more than 40 years on, we still try to look at the world through our clients’ eyes, putting their needs and viewpoints at the centre of everything we do. Above all, we believe that, no matter what challenges they face, everyone we work with has the capacity to take control of their lives and shape their own futures.
We are currently recruiting for a ETE (Education, Training, Employment) Coordinator to join our Islington Aftercare Service. Working within a high performing team, ETE Coordinators support people in recovery from substance misuse to fulfil their education, training and employment goals.
The team support people moving on from treatment for substance misuse. The focus of the services is to support clients to move forward with their recovery, with a focus on accessing education, training and employment. This is done through one-to-one goal-focused support sessions, a structured day programme, and a variety of other workshops and groups.
Coordinators hold a caseload of up to 20 clients, as well as delivery of various group programmes at the service, along with other members of the team.
A key element of these roles will be around developing one of our lead areas across the services, there will be an opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge across a particular area to better ensure our clients and the services are adequately kept up to date with any new trends, changes and opportunities.
• Would you be excited about supporting our clients into ETE opportunities?
• Are you confident in leading a group?
• Can you keep your ear to the ground to ensure we offer a range of opportunities to our clients?
• Our clients are in recovery from drug and alcohol issues. Do you have the empathy and capability to support our clients into positive outcomes?
If the answer is yes, we would love to hear from you. Come and join our energetic, proactive and passionate team!
